Feng Shui Bagua-

My researches show, that 90 percent of people using Feng Shui, are not doing it properly. I honestly believe that,  it is possible to use it incorrectly, people can be easily misguided.  Feng Shui has two different schools, one relying on the points of the compass, the Lou Pan, the other on the Magic square, or commonly known as the  Form school of Feng Shui.
Let’s face it, It is impossible for every home to have the Career corner aligned with the main entrance. That  would mean that every house has a North facing entrance, which is pretty absurd, and nearly impossible. The Bagua Map below, is the one  used by  some Feng Shui consultants,  in   various literatures and on the internet as well.
I’m not saying that it’s not adequate or that you should not use it, but if you choose to use this map, when you’re introducing  Feng Shui to your home, make sure you stick with it, because the two schools of Feng Shui are not compatible. The areas are the same, with the same exact meaning, but the maps can’t be used together.

This is the so called Form School of Feng Shui. Is based on a square, divided to 9 exact squares, each representing a corner of the bagua. When you use this bagua, you are supposed to place this square on the ground plan of your home, making sure that the Career, the Knowledge and the Helpful people corner,  are on the same line as your main entrance. This means your front door must be in one of these corners. This kind of interpretation is completely accepted by the modern world, where we are  in a  constant rush and we  search the easiest way of doing anything.     But yet again, don’t use the two maps together, because corners of your house will be associated with different Feng Shui areas, will be dominated by different elements, and you’ll get lost before you even make your first step.
Do your research, know exactly where you’re going, before you start. You think you can’t work  with a compass, and measurements, than use the form school.

If you do want a good Feng Shui for your home, than you have to use the Loupan , and   a compass. You have to measure at least twice, to determine  where North is. The best place for measuring is the front door, and the exact geometric middle of your home, if for some reason you can’t do a measurement from the middle than you have to be satisfied with the closest place to it.

The Loupan is the ancient bagua map, relying  a lot on intuition, and  human logic, and a little bit of science.  The use of the Loupan seems impossible at  the first sight , it might be difficult to understand the principles at the beginning , but it’s way more easier in practice, as it looks.
This specific compass, includes many circles following each other, where each circle has its own meaning. Just as the Form school, it is divided in 9 , but not exact same squares, course energy can’t be boxed in, the smallest circle in the middle represents the middle, just like in the Form School  the Thai  Qi.( or Thai chi  ) From there are  originated the  other 8 Feng Shui life corners, just like slices of a beautiful cake.
The information on the Loupan , and it’s individual circles, often depend on their owner. There are many on the market, you can also make one  for yourself, including the information you want  to have handy.
The information can be realistic, symbolic, even mystical. It is believed  to have the world inside , to be the structure off all, all we are, and we could ever be. I will definitely have a post on the Loupan in the future, if you have specific questions about it in the meantime I help you with pleasure.
Just as with the form school, you will need a ground plan of your home. Take a compass and determine where North is, and draw  it on your ground plan, in form of a red arrow, than follow the circles on the Lou pan and name the “slices” of your house.

                           What is Feng Shui anyway?

I promised I’ll try to avoid professional expressions, but writing about a such a spiritual topic, I do need to use some, although I will explain them, in that way you can concentrate only on the content, without being distracted. Like I mainly refer to the Qi as energy, I believe, for someone who is just beginning to learn about Feng Shui , it can be distracting and even scary, reading a text what has foreign words in it, in this case Chinese, better said ancient Chinese.

I don’t know about you, but I personally, even though I am familiar with these words, don’t have  the desire to learn Chinese, I’m  Hungarian, and I do speak a few languages quite good, but Chinese it’s hard rock, even though people say that Hungarian is way more harder to learn as Chinese....well,  still no need to learn it.
Back to our business, I’ll try to avoid  ancient foreign language, use their most common everyday synonym. And if I use them I definitely will use their translation in the future.
In any means, this is a blog about Feng shui in everyday life,
If you want to read about professional Feng shui, try Lillian Too’ s website for starters, she’s one of the best, you can learn so much from her.

The deeper meaning of Feng and Shui

In addition to the meaning of each word, I would ad some  deeper meanings of it, you’ll see than how Feng shui truly embraces our entire life.

Wind

The word Feng, means wind. But if you take a minute to figure out what wind is, soon you’ll realize how simple and logical Feng Shui is.
So what is wind?  “Wind is the flow of gases on a large scale. On the surface of earth, wind consists of the bulk movement of air. In outer space, solar wind is the movement of gases...”  I quoted this from Wikipedia. Wind is everywhere, even outer space. In that matter I can say, or write, that the meaning of Feng is not only wind, but everything what belongs to the expression or word Wind.
Like the air and air movement, the wind itself consists on the movement of the air.
Or the clouds that are moved by the wind, and are formed with the help of wind.
And energy fields, the energies flow, just as the wind blows. Both are  constantly in movement, and they change constantly.
The storms belong also to the meanings of Feng, a wind can not only be a breeze, but can destroy also. The breeze, the cool wind after a summer rain, but also a tornado and a tsunami can be a manifestation of the wind.
Everything that can influence, control or guide the free  airflow also belongs here. Like all the mountains, hills, rocks, and their artificial brothers like skyscrapers, churches, building, even the wind parks.
Nearly half of our environment is made of wind, or at least has a connection to it. The other half of it, is made of water, what is the meaning of Shui.

      Water.

Is maybe easier to tell what belongs to the meaning of water, obviously everything made of water.... Rivers, lakes, oceans, creeks, every natural water source, ice,and snow, as well as all the water tanks and channels on earth.
What is not so logical at first sight are the hidden features of water. Like their movement , or that they nourish our planet.
For example, if you look at a river on a map, and you follow it from its source to its estuary,  you’ll see the resemblance whit a country road, or a path they both have curves their both winding, have bridges and branches, divide and subdivide till they reach their destination.
Every road, and path as well as bridges belong to the meaning of water.
All the plants, trees, meadows belong to this category as well, they are nourishing from water, they nourish all Gods  creatures, so every animal, bug, bacteria....every living thing, as well as humans are listed as a meaning of water.

Feng Shui is our world if we open our eyes enough to see it.Yes I know, there are many skeptic people in reality, and they don’t believe in ‘stuff’ like Feng Shui.
They don’t have to, it works anyway. I don’t intend to start a religion education of any kind.
Some people believe in God, some don’t, those who believe, know that God is there, even if other people don’t believe in it. They don’t try to change those people’s mind , don’t keep proving their point....Feng Shui is there even if the majority of people don’t believe in its powers.
I don’t try to change your mind, not proving my point, I am providing information to those who believe in the power of our universe, and do want to live in harmony.
You can believe in God, any kind of God, and in the same time believe in the existence  of Feng Shui.
Feng Shui is not a religion, is a lifestyle. If you understand its principles you will find the way to live in accordance with your environment. Live a happy, healthy, successful life.

The five  areas of a successful life

If you ever heard of personality coaching, or business coaching, you might have heard  about the areas of life, or Zig Ziglar’s wheel of life,  he teaches about 7 areas, others talk about 10 or even 12. Feng Shui experts and Occidental philosophers acknowledge 5 areas that lead to a successful live.
This five form a whole, just like the universe itself.

                                         The fate

Your  predestined fate, which is mainly determined by the orbit of the planets.
The exact map of the planets and stars, from the moment of your birth , determines your character, your virtue and vice.
You have to learn to control your  vice, and to make benefits from your virtue.
You do read your horoscope every morning, don’t you? People who don’t believe in astrology, usually won’t believe in the great power of Feng Shui either, in that order I know that you read your horoscope, if not everyday, but once in a while for sure!
And you try to avoid the situations of which it warned you, and take the advised opportunities.
You are in control of your destiny, you chose to live your life. You chose to be a good person, or to be a criminal, the circumstances are there, just to guide you,but you are the one who makes the call, and decides which path to take.
Your most important thing in life is developing your personality, to be the best version of yourself you can be, and make this world a better place, for you for your loved ones and for everyone else.
If every person in this world would try just a little, we shouldn’t be worrying  about our oceans and rainforests, or any resources of our planet.
It’s never to late to change, one person can make a difference to. Maybe you contribute to the saving of our planet more as you’d know. At least your grandchildren will be able to say, that you tried.

                                       The luck

The luck itself is hard to describe, every culture has its own comprehension of luck.
But they all  agree that you make your own luck, it’s not happening  just like that. Luck is a state of  mind, to achieve that, you need to work really hard. You have to learn to control your thoughts, they have immense power, and if you master your thoughts, you own your life, your luck.
    It’s simple,
~ you have aspirations, and  great expectations toward the future, good thing will happen to you.
~ but if you always see the dark side of life, always find the negativity everywhere, than bad luck is all you can rely on.

                                            Feng Shui

Following the advices of Feng  Shui, you can create a great atmosphere to live in.
If you apply the principles of Feng Shui into your life, your environment , you are well- balanced, even minded person. You are happy with your life, you are healthy, you have everything you want, and than you can give.... joy, to those who need it, help, to the helpless....and so on.
In order to be able to make the world a better place, you need to be in a better place first.
Through Feng  shui You learn hidden aspects of your personality , you learn to approach your surroundings with apprehension, and you have a positive viewpoint of the world.

The love of humanity and humans

To be able to give selflessly is a high quality.  You don’t have to be wealthy in order to give, without expectations. The most precious, what you other can give is your love and time. To love and understand people, you may don’t even know, is something you have to teach yourself.
The ancient philosophy teaches us to give, without wanting anything in exchange, like recognition or gratitude. Expect nothing , you will become everything. That’s just karma , what goes around, comes around.
Alone the knowledge that you making someone happy will improve your life, and definitely makes you happy too.

                                Self improvement

You have to do everything in your power to improve yourself. Never stop learning, and never is too late to start. It’s not just the learning in schools, or further training. Every life circumstance can teach you something new if you are ready to open your mind for it.
Hard work will lead you to  a constant success.
No sun should go down on you before you learned something useful, something that will improve your skills, your personality or your way of life.

I hope reading these lines, will make you want to change, the smallest change can have the biggest impact on our lives.
Take the first step, after that is just another one , and another, and so you’ll reach your destination.
I try to lead your way, hold your hand through this immense energy called internet. Ask anything, i will try to answer as soon as possible.
I believe this topic it comes to an end , in continuation I will write about the deeper meaning of the Universal Energy called Qi, or Chi. But that is for a new blogpost.
